2011 Dues

Hello! Hope you are having a great spring! It’s nice to see everyone out in the neighborhood after such a long cold winter!

Here is the 2011 dues letter:

Landscaping at Fox Road Entrance

The main entrance to our neighborhood is undergoing some updates as part of our 2010 budget.

You might have noticed that some of the overgrown bushes are now gone. The tired old brick was power washed late last fall.

As soon as the weather is more stable, we'll start seeing the new landscape plantings. Also, and again weather permitting, we will see the two new limestone signs go up.

Please see attached drawing for more detailed information.

b.) Replacing cedar post $181.80 including taxes and installation
c.) Replacing mailbox with address only $92.41 including taxes and installation

IFD Merger

The Lawrence Council and the Indianapolis City-County Council voted to merge the Lawrence fire department with the Indianapolis Fire Department. See story here:

Bikes Stolen

Over the last two weeks, a total of four bikes have been stolen from two different homes here at Echo Pointe. The locations were Echo Grove Court and Echo Grove Lane (see map). Nothing else was taken from the homes, even though more valuable items were in the area were the bikes were taken. Please be on the lookout for suspicious activity and report it to Lawrence Police at 545.7575 (non-emergencies) or 911 for emergencies. You can also file a report online using the City of Lawrence Crime Watch tip line here:

Expenses & Dues

Update on 2009-10 expenses and plans for 2010-2011 dues:

We are working hard to preserve our neighborhood's property values. As a result, in 2009-2010 we spent additional $'s on two projects (as a result of your input on the 2009-2010 survey):
1) $1745.03 on refinishing the lampposts and replacing the lamp globes in the Fox Rd. entrance
2) $851.50 on landscaping plants and materials for the median on the Fox Rd. entrance

This year we need to work on two additional items:

Blue Star Banner Initiative

BLUE STAR BANNER INITIATIVE
FROM MAYOR PAUL RICKETTS

Like most of you, it is my belief the City of Lawrence, which was the home of Ft. Benjamin Harrison for almost a century, is a city that should not lose its outstanding military heritage now that the Army post is closed. We are proud that our City continues to enjoy a busy, active PX/Commissary, a U.S. Army Reserve center and a new Indiana National Guard Armory, called the Lawrence Readiness Center, which is currently under construction. However, with all of that there is something missing.

Trial Lamp Post Globe Replacement

Dear Echo Pointe Residents,

After the recent survey attached to your annual dues letter, replacing/updating the lamp posts in the front entrance came second as the most important project to tackle (landscaping first).

I've found a company that makes replacement lamp post globes that fit our existing lamp post. Replacing the globes fits within our budget. Replacing the posts does not.
